Elocution Competition on “Nataraja: A Confluence of Arts and Science
CSIR-National Institute of Science, Technology and Development Studies, New Delhi and Vijnana Bharati are organising an online elocution competition on the idea of ‘Nataraja - A Confluence of Arts and Science’. On June 18, 2004 an unusual statue of ‘Nataraja’ was unveiled in the precincts of CERN – European Organisation of Nuclear Research – at Geneva, Most sublime symbol of Indian culture was presented by the Government of India to CERN as a gift to celebrate the long association of India, starting from 1960, with the world’s largest particle physics laboratory.
In commemoration of unveiling Nataraja at CERN, CSIR-NISTADS and Vijnana Bharati are organising an online elocution competition on the idea of ‘Nataraja- A Confluence of Arts and Science, Elocution is an art of speech and conveying a message which allows anyone to share their views. This platform will help in gathering knowledge on the topic and spreading the significance of studying art scientifically. Competition aims at drawing attention of curious minds to this confluence of ‘Arts’ and ‘Science’.
Details of Competitions and Registrations:
Participants will have to record the video of a speech on:
‘Nataraja: A Confluence of Arts and Science’.
- Video can be recorded on mobile or any other device.
- It should be either in Hindi or English language.
- Duration - 3 to 5 mins.
- Format - MP4.
- Participants will have to register at https://vibhaindia.org/ NISTADS website (www.nistads.res.in) and upload the video after registering.
- Summarize your views on the topic in 50 words while uploading the video.
Who can participate:
8th to 12th standard students
Undergraduate and Postgraduate
Open to all except the above two categories
Registration will start from 18th June 2020 and the last date for entries is 30th June 2020.
Each category and each language has Prize:
1st Prize Vigyan Pragati / Science Reporter- of ‘CSIR Magazine’ : 3 years subscription
2nd Prize Vigyan Pragati / Science Reporter- of ‘CSIR Magazine’ 2 years subscription
3rd Prize Vigyan Pragati / Science Reporter- of ‘CSIR Magazine’ 1 years subscription
Consolation Prize Vigyan Pragati / Science Reporter- of ‘CSIR Magazine’ 6 months subscription
(3 selected participants in each category).
E-Certificate will also be issued to all the winners.
Entries will be judged on:
- Originality and Relevance of the submitted video with the theme.
- Quality, Creativity, Uniqueness, Clarity and Simplicity in the explanation.
- Use of camera angle.
- Summary which is submitted while uploading.
Terms and Conditions:
By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions. The prize is as stated and no cash or other alternative will be offered. The prizes are not transferable. The winning contribution will be published on CSIR-NISTADS website, Vijnana Bharati’s website and Social Media. Organiser’s decision will be final and binding.
